Most of the landscape painting in the collection is from this agricultural flatland , located 30 miles west of Portland . I have been painting there every year for the past ten years .

The NW coast offers a motif that is perfect for the plein air painter , as well as the Cascade Volcanic range and the Columbia gorge , all of which are represented in this series of paintings .
